Karpal Singh, The MP for Bukit Gelugor, was killed in an automobile accident early this morning. The 74 year old lawyer-turned-politician died instantly when the vehicle he was travelling in, a white Toyota Alphard, crashed into the back of a lorry at KM 301.6 on the North-South Expressway. His personal assistant, C. Michael, also died on the spot in the horrific crash.

The few others travelling in the same vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital and treated for multiple injuries.

Indeed, my deepest condolences to his family & friends… and to the many who regard Karpal as a defender of truth and justice. May he Rest In Peace.
